The company was incorporated by a group of investors with a major vision of the future, who created the foundations that promoted development of this industrial sector with a major economic and social significance in Mexico.
1946
The original plant was completed, and began operations with a capacity of 900 tons/month. The company started to buy blister copper from Peñoles, whose casting operation was located in Torreon, Coahuila, that was closed when copper concentrate from that company was moved to the plant in Asarco in San Luis Potosi, currently Industrial Minera Mexico, S.A.
1948
Began receiving copper from The Cananea Consolidated Copper Co., S.A., currently Compañia Minera de Cananea, S.A.
Previously a joint-stock company with state and private sector participation, and currently a private company owned by Grupo Condumex.
