The path of GRUPO CONDUMEX has been characterized by our interest on technology research and development. CIDEC (Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo Condumex) was created to support this purpose, an institution of technological excellence oriented to the creation of new products, compounds and materials, design, continuous improvement and development of processes and systems.

Product  development, lean manufacturing, robust design & lean development, cost reduction and technological innovation applications are driving through a continuous improvement system always focused on Total Customer Satisfaction.

CIDEC is ISO 9001, IEC 17015, ISO 14001, UL, CSA certified and in 2002 obtained the award “Premio Nacional de Tecnología”. Major technological agreements have been established with leader Companies, Research and Development Institutes and Universities.

In addition, Technology is an important issue for intellectual property such as patents and process improvement. In 2005 technical status is as follows:

§       México: 39 patents approved and 45 in registration process

§       World wide: 65 patents approved and 129 in registration process

Technical Center as part of CIDEC organization is connected in real time to other design centers such as OEM and Tier 1 Customers located world wide including United States, Canada,  Japan, Germany, India, China, Korea and Braz il. This Center provides support for Automotive Companies within Grupo Condumex and develops mechanical and electrical components, electronic / electrical Systems, embedded software for microcontrollers applications, logistics, quality and environmental systems.

Human factor is the motor that drives Condumex development, for this reason 381 people is dedicated 100% for technology related activities, where 58  are PhD, 280 are BS and 43 Technicians, in addition manufacturing plants and related sites provide process and product improvements  knowledge in a continuous training and skills program.
